November 9, 2012: Luca walked today!!!!

Our little man took his first steps! Such an amazing day to see him start walking. We couldn't be more excited.

November 7, 2012: 15 months

Any day now this handsome little man will be walking. In the meantime, he's talking more - all done, deer, ball, kitty, banana, light are the popular words these days.

October 31, 2012: Halloween!

Luca's second Halloween. He had a great time carving a pumpkin with daddy and going to the door to see all the kids. No trick or treating yet, though. Maybe next year when he's walking...getting close!

October 7, 2012: 14 Months

From one month to the next Luca has changed dramatically. He has really stretched out and is looking more and more like a little boy, not a baby. A few photos from the past month, enjoying the last few days of summer and the change in the weather. He also knows to hold up one finger when we ask him "Luca how old are you?". It is so cute!

September 7, 2012: 13 Months

Some of my favorite 13 month pictures of Luca. He sure is getting more and more animated! High fives, picking up his phone (or our phones) when we say hello, standing and letting go and always laughing! And he got his first two teeth a couple of days after his 1st birthday!

August 18, 2012: Luca's 1st Birthday Party

For a one-year old, Luca threw a good bash. The theme was mustaches and everyone got into it and sported some really good staches. We had a taco bar, a pinata and a pin the mustache on Luca game. But Luca's favorite was Aunt Melissa's mustache cake (golden butter cake with a cocoa whipped cream filling and whipped cocoa mascarpone/buttercream frosting - umm yes it was delicious!). August 7, 2012: Luca's First Birthday!

I can't believe this day has come. My little baby boy is 1 years old - the little boy that has made our hearts melt with his kisses and his adorable laugh. Our little lovebug, light of our lives and the sunshine in our hearts.

So what does mama do to celebrate his birthday, take the day off of course! The day started with Mickey Mouse Pancakes, some snuggling in the afternoon, lots of new toys to play with and a leg of lamb dinner joined by Nana and Papa (yes, Luca's favorite is lamb - expensive taste, we know). We love you Luca William and we are so happy that you came into our lives, our dear son!

July 29-August 4th, 2012: Humphrey Family Reunion - Estes Park, CO

Humphrey Family Reunion!!! Luca had a blast playing with all his second cousins, hiking, fly fishing, seeing all the animals (some just strolling casually by our cabin) and even celebrating mama's big 30. It was a memorable week to say the least.

July 28, 2012: Luca's First Haircut

Ok. I finally gave in and agreed with Chris that Luca needed a haircut. The experience was great overall. Luca smiled, mama tried to not cry and dad snapped a few good photos.

July 14th: Luca's First Giant's Game!

Luca loved his first Giant's Game and not because he is interested in watching baseball, but because he just learned how to clap! He found it very amusing that everyone around him was clapping for him. :)

July 7, 2011: 11 months!

Chris, Luca and I decided it was time to get away just the three of us and have some quality family time. So we hopped in the car and went to Truckee (near Lake Tahoe) to enjoy the hot sun by day and campfires by night. And we even took Luca to Virgina City, NV on his 11th month birthday! He wasn't impressed (and neither were we). haha
